Zobe market has existed since the seventeenth century. Daily market today, it was animated every four days. Before the use of cowries as currency in Dahomey, food stuffs were bartered (fruits, grains, tubers, vegetables, etc..) wood and crafts products. This market is protected by Aizan divinity. It had never been place of slaves trade.
The market has halls and warehouses of the commercial type that were built after 1955 by the colonial administration. This was a way to end the frequent fires huts fortunes.
