History

The house is built by a merchant Agostino Monteiro an employee of the Portuguese. He also was a gold dealer.

Assani 's house

CARACTERISTICS

Brief description

Concession with a set of Afro Brazilian type buildings. The site is highly degraded, but it could be restore in the facade to keep the original appearance.

History

The house was built by Aladjanigbon Assani, former hunter who became a trader. The ancestor has progressively purchased the surrounding houses and eventually obtain the concession as it stands today.

Lima's House

CARACTERISTICS

Brief description

Building with an area of 90 meters around, located at the bottom of the concession Lima (900m), built in clay brick, covered with corrugated iron.
It consists of four (04) bedrooms and a living room, but it is decommissioned in 2004.

History

Very important concession, 900 square meters, with several courses and a row of buildings in cement blocks and a built in clay brick.

The site belonged in the nineteenth century to Antonia Sequiera, Jose Lima Jao’ spouse, Brazilian-born, then to his son Joachim Joao Lima.

Among the heirs (family tree to rebuild) has distinguished Dorothy Lima, one of the first reporter who wrote about Benin in the Guild of Dahomey''and''Truth without fear. He lived from 1885 to 1952 and was decorated like a veteran.
